These vary from music to crafts to magic shows! Although the Cafe is first and foremost a dementia-friendly space, it is open to any and all who would like to attend. At this time we are a group of almost entirely English speakers, but if this were to change we would love to bring on multilingual volunteers who could keep up good conversation or help with translation. Together we will create community as we dance in our seats and or on our feet. If you’ve got a heartbeat, you’ve got rhythm enough. No prior experience necessary.

Enjoy a facilitated arts program in the wheelchair-accessible Topsfield Library.

Visit them online for specific dates and times.

There is no charge to attend, but donations are accepted. We welcome any dementia care-partner (currently caring, or having cared) and all guests with memory loss, including those living with a brain injury/TBI/stroke/TIA or Down Syndrome. Guests who require personal assistance must bring a care partner; we are unable to provide direct care or supervision of guests. A wheelchair-accessible port-a-potty is available. The Walpole Memory Café welcomes those living with memory changes and their care partners. Monthly activities will vary and there will be refreshments and conversation with others facing similar challenges. This will take place in a safe and supportive environment. A welcoming place for individuals and families living with memory changes. Enjoy coffee, refreshments, creative arts, and conversation with new friends of all ages. A guest artist leads a creative exploration each month. Co-hosted by the Waltham Student Group of Brandeis University. A care partner must accompany guests who require personal care assistance. There is no cost to attend, but an RSVP is requested for in-person gatherings. RSVPs are not needed for Zoom gatherings. The state of Massachusetts has an outstanding resource in the good people at Jewish Family and Children Services, based in Waltham.

In my first hand experience working with Beth Soltzberg (Director, Alzheimer’s/Related Disorders Family Support Program) I’ve found her passion for gathering, organizing, and sharing valuable resources to be both impressive and invigorating.
