First Ohio Memory Cafe Listing

LIFE a Dementia Friendly Foundation
First Memory Cafe listing for Ohio!

With very few states still not having any Memory Cafes listed, it is getting increasingly exciting to announce “firsts.” It is with great pleasure that we welcome LIFE a Dementia Friendly Foundation, based in Vermilion, to the Ohio page on Memory Cafe Directory!

“LIFE” in their name is not just what we all hold most dear, but it also frames their work:

Linking Individuals and Families through Education and engagement

As you are about to learn, they are truly putting their heart and sole into their Memory Cafe and everything else they do.

Memory Cafe

First, the Memory Cafe. They operate it on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. It takes place at the Lakeview Baptist Church, 491 Ferndale Avenue in Vermilion.

For more information, you can call 440.967.5104. At any time, you can come back to Memory Cafe Directory, visit the Ohio page, and see the current details.

A 4-hour Memory Cafe is somewhat rare as a listing in Memory Cafe Directory. That is a wonderful block of time for someone living with early memory loss and their care partner to enjoy.

But wait, there’s more!

Participants are served a lunch provided courtesy of Elmcroft Senior Living and Autumn Aegis. What a wonderful partnership!

LIFE a Dementia Friendly Foundation

There is no better place to start as a way of introduction, than to simply recite Life’s mission:

“Partner with anyone touched by dementia, and offer resources, education, and engaging activities which promote and improve quality of life.”

While simple in statement, the difficulty always lies in the execution. It always takes plenty of “behind the scenes” work to make something look simple on the surface. Let’s take a look at what they value and how they accomplish this wonderfully valuable mission.
