The Crossmount Memory Cafe is a social and recreational support program for people living with dementia and their caregivers from Saskatoon and surrounding rural areas.

It allows participants the opportunity to meet regularly with others who have shared lived experiences while providing strong levels of interaction through activity-based sessions to encourage self-expression and self-esteem. The program is currently facilitated twice a month at Crossmount with the help of volunteers.

During Cafe Time, participants share in conversation and form supportive social connections over a refreshment and light snack. Following Cafe Time, participants engage in a wide variety of activities and experiences offered and facilitated by volunteers including live entertainment, intergenerational activities, low impact physical activity, creative expression through art and mixed media, horticulture activities, reminiscing and sharing, festive celebrations, learning new skills, and more.

The Memory Cafe provides a safe, supportive, and social outing for people who may otherwise have limited opportunities to engage with others experiencing similar dementia-related health and social barriers.
