Find Oregon Memory Cafes near you and enjoy a “dementia-friendly” outing with your loved one. Some are sponsored by national organizations, while many more are offered by local groups. If your favorite Memory Cafe isn’t shown, please let us know and we’ll add it. It’s free!
Gold Beach
Memory Cafe Curry | Curry Public Library
94341 3rd St. | Gold Beach, OR 97444
10:30 AM – Noon, 3rd Wednesday of each month
Memory Cafe Curry is staffed by a qualified social service provider (MSW), library staff, and volunteers. The Cafe will provide a safe, supportive space where activities are not dependent on flawless memories. Care partners can be with their loved one and socialize in a judgment free, comfortable environment. Coffee and snacks will be provided, and there is no cost to attend. However, this not a care facility, and care partners are required to be present.
This project is the work of a team of Curry Public Library staff in partnership with Lualhati Anderson (Oregon Older Adult Behavioral Health Initiative), and is based on inspiration and support from Memory Cafe Coos, a collaboration between North Bend Public Library and North Bend Medical Center. For more information, please contact Karim Shumaker at 541.247.7246 or memorycafe@cplib.net.

North Bend
Memory Cafe Coos | North Bend Public Library
1800 Sherman Ave. | North Bend, OR 97459
10:30 AM to Noon, 1st Wednesday of each month
Memory Cafes are social gatherings for older adults with memory issues and their care partners. Care partners may be spouses, siblings, children or friends, and their social lives are often just as affected as their loved ones. These gatherings are light and casual and allow care partners to relax and socialize with others in their same situation. There is no cost to attend.
The Cafe will be staffed by qualified healthcare providers (LCSW), library staff, and volunteers. Memory Café Coos will provide a safe, comfortable, supportive space where activities are not dependent on flawless memories and care partners can be with their loved one and still have social interactions. However, this is not a care facility, and care partners are required to accompany their partners.
This pilot project is funded by an Elder Service Innovation Grant from OHSU’s Office of Oregon Rural Health grant. The project is the work of Drea Douglas (North Bend Public Library), Kelli Bosak (North Bend Medical Center), and Lualhati Anderson (Oregon Older Adult Behavioral Health Initiative). They hope to find community partners who will host other Memory Cafes as well, with a goal of having a weekly Memory Cafe in Coos and Curry Counties.
For more information please contact Drea Douglas of the North Bend Public Library at 541.756.0400 or memorycafecoos@gmail.com or visit online.
